Elizabeth (“Libba'“) Harmon, M.S., L.Ac., E-RYT-500 of Harmon Acupuncture

I’ve been practicing acupuncture since 2000, when I graduated from Tri State College of Acupuncture w/ an M.S. and a B.S. in Acupuncture. When I opened Pranam Yoga Shala in 2014., I aimed to interweave my passions for acupuncture & Chinese Medicine with the joys of teaching yoga & healthy movement, breath, and meditation practices.

Having studied (and continued study) with a vast array of teachers, mentors, healers, styles, & modalities, I bring an eclectic approach to supporting people on their path. My background includes a wild journey of unexplained back pain as a teenager; which led me to the offices of countless doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, osteopaths, energy healers, DOMs, surgeons, massage, and movement therapists. That long journey of pain, sleeplessness, & hopelessness finally culminated in a last ditch effort to discovering a rare spinal tumor. I had the experience of meeting & working with practitioners who had no regard for my experience, & no respect for me or my process. I also enjoyed the honor of working with people who humbly & intelligently serve & care for their clients, who treat them with love & respect.

Add to that a long list of injuries from martial arts training, running, playing, & yoga; my experience of pain, dis-ease & healing led me down the path to becoming an acupuncturist.

My training, background & experience includes Classical Chinese acupuncture, TCM (Traditional Chinese Acupuncture), APM (Acupuncture Physical Medicine), trigger point therapy (some call this ‘dry needling, but I incorporate a far more holistic & effective approach to releasing trigger points, through the lens of Chinese Medicine), myofascial release, acupuncture for fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, & post partum. I’ve worked very consistently with depression, anxiety, stress & fatigue disorders, thyroid imbalances, & autoimmune disorders. A lot of people seek treatment & support while undergoing cancer treatments. Many come when their dis-ease is not explainable through a Western lens. Acupuncture can treat complaints that have no name. It never gets old, witnessing the positive effects of this medicine, how it supports, informs, & reduces dis-order & side effects from a whole host of issues that people face today.

Through a radically varied background of other healing and movement experiences, (including martial arts, running, yoga, Thai massage, tui na, various sports, hiking, and a lot of travel to distant places to learn from a wide variety of lineages & healers), I’ve accumulated an amalgam of ways to approach working with others on their healing journeys. I am filled with gratitude for the abilities to assist & witness people on the path of healing. It is integral to how I walk in the world. It’s my calling, so, it also heals and teaches me. It is acupuncture’s powerful medicine that does the work, while I keep learning how to get out of the way.
